A lot of parents chuckle at the line in the Christmas song It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas, “and Mom and Dad can hardly wait for school to start again.” Well, that day is tomorrow, Jan. 5.
But, students will soon have another day at home. Martin Luther King Day on Monday, Jan. 19, isn’t a holiday for teachers. They’ll have a day for professional development without students at school. The school calendar has the same arrangement for President’s Day on Feb. 16; no students at school, but the teachers will have professional development activities.
